The lightning surge invades to power lines and ground lines of the low-voltage distribution line due to a direct lightning strike on the power leading line or the building. SPDs are generally placed in the distribution board to protect from the lightning surge overvoltage. However, if the wiring becomes long, there will be a range that cannot be protected even by SPD. This range depends on the wiring conditions such as the type of wiring, the distance from the structure, and the distance between the wirings. In order to examine the protection range by SPD, we construct the analysis model of the low-voltage distribution line and investigate the SPD protection effect against lightning surge invading from the ground line. |
