Yoshio Kawakita established Kawakita Electric Company after working for Siemens with the support of Shitagau Noguchi as an electrical engineer. From the Taisho era to the early Showa era, he supported the commercialization of many local lamp companies and participated in the management.
Further he established the electric manufacturing company. However the business collapsed in the process of progressing the integration of lamp companies and the diversification of the electric manufacturing industries. The purpose of this paper is to investigate these business activities and to consider the issues and lessons learned in response to the changing times.
