This paper introduces the historical and technical background of the Vertoro rectifier, which was invented by Prof. Shiio in 1918 and put into practical use following the completion of the first model in 1929. Although the production of this rectifier was discontinued in 1968, the status of this rectifier will also be reported, as it has been confirmed that there are cases where it is still in operation as an industrial device in service today (2023). |
