This report surveys research results, examples of practical applications, press releases, and other information on application specific electric motors (ASEMs), which are rapidly achieving higher performance in response to the demand for electrification of automobiles and energy conservation in equipment, and organizes them by method of achieving higher performance. Specifically, the report summarizes the trends toward smaller, lighter, and more efficient application specific electric motors, mainly in terms of higher speed, electromechanical integration, new topology, new materials, and supporting component technology. |
